Repair works to the embankments at Crewkerne impact the routes to / from Crewkerne
Period:Monday, July 28 to Monday, July 28
Operators:South Western Railway
Related Information:From Monday 28 July, Network Rail are carrying out repair works to the embankments at Crewkerne. This means trains between Exeter St Davids and London Waterloo will run non-stop between Axminster and Yeovil Junction, and not call at Crewkerne station.
Rail replacement buses will run between Axminster and Yeovil Junction, calling at Crewkerne, in both directions.
At present, it is not yet known when trains will call at Crewkerne again. We'll update you once we receive further information.
Travel advice from Monday 28 July:
If you're travelling by a replacement bus, your journey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete using this service.
The car park at Crewkerne station will be reduced to facilitate the rail replacement bus service. The two accessibility parking bays will be temporarily relocated and will be directly in front of the station main entrance.
UK Trains Rail Disruptions & Other Info
Aug 2 to Aug 8
Major engineering work impacts Avanti West Coast services.
Period:Saturday, August 2 to Friday, August 8
Operators:Avanti West Coast
Related Information:Major engineering work means there will be no trains to or from Stockport, Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent from Saturday 2 to Friday 22 August. Avanti West Coast are running rail replacement buses to get travelers to and from these stations instead, however journeys will take longer as a result. Trains between London and Manchester are running, they’ll just take a few minutes longer going by a different route. Avanti trains to and from Manchester and Liverpool are running less frequently due to these diversions. Less frequent trains between London and Liverpool means a significantly reduced Avanti West Coast timetable at Lichfield Trent Valley and Tamworth. For customers heading to Wembley on 10 August for the Community Shield, this engineering work might affect their journey. We advise customers plan ahead and check before travelling ( https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/travel-information/live-train-status ) to the match.
