With the Great Western Railway (GWR), the journey from Cardiff Central to Bath Spa takes just over an hour. On this trip, you’ll pass from Wales into England. Arriving at Bath Spa

Once you arrive at Bath Spa, you’ll immediately notice its beautiful Grade II-listed station building. Operated by GWR, Bath Spa is also the busiest station in Somerset, and the second busiest in South West England behind only Bristol Temple Meads. The station provides connections to key destinations such as London Paddington, Bristol, Penzance, and Bristol Temple Meads, making it a vital hub for regional travel.

The station itself is on Dorchester Street, near the city centre of Bath. It’s perfectly possible to walk into the city centre if you’d like to see some of the features of one of the UK’s most elegant cities. However, if you’d prefer to take public transport, a taxi rank is located at the station’s entrance and local buses stop nearby.

There’s an absolute mountain of things to see and do in Bath that are beside the station. For instance, it’s only a few minutes walk from the station to Bath City Parade Gardens, or the well-known and celebrated Roman Baths, from where the city gets its name.
