On average, getting from London Victoria to Brighton takes one hour by using the Gatwick Express. You’ll travel south towards the English Channel, passing through Gatwick Airport, and then head straight towards Brighton.

Departing from London Victoria Station

London Victoria Station is an excellent station from which to depart. Arriving at Brighton 

Arriving at Brighton places you in the heart of England’s most iconic seaside town. Located at the intersection of Terminus Road and Trafalgar Street, it’s only a fifteen-minute walk to Brighton’s legendary beach and pier. There are tons of exciting pubs, nightlife, and restaurants near the station, too, not to mention Brighton’s swathes of trendy cafes. 

Depending on when you arrive in Brighton, you might even see the spectacular murmurations – starlings performing their aerial ‘dance’ as they return from across the Sussex countryside. You need to get up early, though, the murmurations usually occur around dusk and only in the winter. The station itself is decorated in suave and elegant Victorian architecture, and it has ferried tourists from London to Brighton for generations. 

Three rail operators run from Brighton and run services into London and throughout the wider south coast. These are Gatwick Express, Southern Railway, and Thameslink.
