Stansted Airport Train Station
Stansted Airport Train Station is in Essex and serves the airport of the same name. It runs on the West Anglia Main Line and is around thirty-six miles from London Liverpool Street Station.
The station was initially opened in 1991 to coincide with the airport’s new terminal building and to help deal with the influx of passengers the new terminal would generate. It’s actually the busiest station in Essex and the sixteenth busiest railway station in the UK outside of London.
The station was built by the illustrious architectural firm Foster & Partners, which has also built the Millau Viaduct in France, the German Parliament building in Berlin, and Apple Park in California, alongside some London icons, including The Gherkin, The Millennium Bridge, and the London City Hall building.
The station has amenities for its passengers, too, including:
